THE YEAR OF THE AFFECTED...

Every year the Lord gives us a new theme and verse that help us focus on the work He wants to do in us. 2008 is the Year of the Affected. We are spending this year studying how Jesus affects our lives. Our thesis is that Jesus affects us radically and totally. But how does that work in the middle of our lives? As parents, individuals, marriages, careers, church members, and on – how does Jesus affect our lives?

The Lord has given us, through His Holy Spirit, 2 Corinthians 5:17 as our verse for 2008. Paul writes,

If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away, behold, new things have come.

This is a great truth for us who are in Christ. And it is a powerful promise to you who have yet to give your life to Jesus. We are going to spend the rest of the year working through the passing away of the old and the coming of the new.

This is going to be another great year as our Father moves in us and makes Himself known to us. Let me encourage you to listen to the sermon from Sunday, February 3rd. This is the Sunday morning we used to work through this verse for the first time. This sermon lays the foundation for us for the rest of the year.
